And being a long winded so and so on occasion I can rhet with the best of them if I don't watch myself.<br /><br />I am willing to grant you that some Libertarians, and certainly a higher proportion than Conservatives, or even so called Liberals are able to respect the opinions of those that they disagree with. The problem as I see it is that the big L has been infiltrated and co-opted by the Republican party who trots out Libertarian sounding platitudes when it suits them, but then of course goes forth and does pretty much the exact opposite. Much the same way that Democrats sound very progressive until it's time to put up or shut up.<br /><br />As to the article, I took a quick look and yeah I wiffed it. I probably won't be able to fix the link until this weekend but I'll hunt up the original article and get it linked right.<br /><br />I apologize for the confusion caused by my choice of phrasing though. The authors central point was simply that using a web service such as the one described was contrary to then Candidate Obama's stated pro-worker stance. I agreed with him and the suggestion that there should be more oversight in regards to these businesses was mine.<br /><br />As you may have noticed I'm not exactly a fan of unregulated free market capitalism.<br /><br />Or to put it another way, both free market capitalism and rough sex might be alright in small doses but take either one too far and somebody's going to wind up getting hurt. :-)<br /><br />Anyway thanks for your comments. The Ridiculous Rights need to reframe everything in such dire terms is exactly what is losing you lot ground with both passionate Liberals and Progressives, but also with a lot of Moderates as well. President Obama, makes a speech in which in part he asks people to come together on trying to reduce the number of abortions, and rather than yield your long held turf of idealogical zealotry, and perhaps concede that widely distributed contraception and comprehensive reproductive education would help with that, you instead prefer to hold on to your all or nothing stance. Either you will ram your beliefs down peoples throats, shouting "Abstinence Or Nothing!" as your battle cry, or you will force people to make common cause with those who take a much more progressive view of a woman's right to choose, thereby resulting in almost total defeat. So as I and others have observed before, you really don't care any where near as much about reducing abortion as you do about being "Right" and "Righteous". Frankly to my mind you lot and PETA are nothing but a bunch of narrow minded, glory seeking hypocrites. Because if you cared as much about the subjects you claim to, you'd recognize the need for reasonable compromise.
